July 30--  A recount of votes in a Treutlen County board of education race has eliminated the need for a runoff election.

Treutlen Election Supervisor T.J. Hudson says a recount gave Keith Edge 150 votes which is 50.17% of the vote and enough for a majority.  Teresa Hayes got 101 votes and Cecil Moore 48 votes in the recount.

Edge has been sworn in to fill the unexpired term of board member June Mason in District Four.  He will serve through 2012.
