July 14--  Officials in Vidalia and Toombs County have announced plans for resurfacing some local roads using funds from the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The Vidalia city council will use $85,000 in state funds to resurface Estroff Drive.

Toombs county will pave 4.36 miles of roads using $315,000 in state money and $121,000 in local sales tax collections.  It plans to resurface portions of Cadillac Drive, the Lyons-Center Road, Winge Road and the Thompson Pond Road.

Toombs County has also awarded a contract for $61,153 to McLendon Construction to repair a portion of the C.V. Mosley Road.
