Voter Education Forum in Vidalia
Monday, 28 June 2010

June 28--  One Democrat and four Republicans running for the 12th Congressional seat in Congress are coming to Vidalia Tuesday night for a voter education forum.

Jim Anderson with Vidalia's Tea Party Patriots says they are sponsoring the forum to give voters a chance to meet the candidates.

"We thought it was necessary to get people educated as to who the candidates are for this upcoming election.  We think this is an important election where the people we choose will make a big impact on the direction our nation will be taking after 2010," Anderson says.

All of the candidates have been invited to the forum and five of the six have accepted.  They are Democrat Regina Thomas of Savannah and Republicans Mike Horner, Ray McKinney, Jeanne Seaver and Carl Smith.  Incumbent Congressman John Barrow says he has to be in Washington Tuesday night and can't attend.

Citizens in attendance will be able to submit questions to the candidates who will also answer questions from the Tea Party.

The forum is being held in the Historic Pal Theater in downtown Vidalia and starts at 6:30 p.m.
