Toombs Grand Jury Indictments

June 22--  A Lyons man has been indicted in connection with the death of Joshua Lee O'Conner last August.  The Toombs County grand jury indicted Timothy Todd Holbrook for shooting O'Conner with a .22 caliber rifle while under the influence of marijuana.

In another case, Christopher Patrick Johnson of Vidalia was indicted for vehicular homicide.  The indictment claims Johnson struck pedestrian Michael Crooms after running a red light at the corner of McIntosh and East Jenkins Street last December. 

Thirteen people were indicted on armed robbery charges.

Some of those indicted are for multiple counts of robbery including Tere Thaddeus Edmond, Nicholas Maurice Singleton and James Albert Brooker, III on three counts; Clifford Lawrence Bagley, Jr., Jerryl Lamont Flowers and Justin Strong on two counts; and for single counts Michael Stokes, Willie Brown, Jr., Rakeem Rogers, Derick Wright, Antonio Butler, Daniel Williams and Alonzo Kirkland.

Eight people indicted on drug-related charges are Bryan Forrest, Lonnie Lanier, Jr., Ernest Brownlee, Leroy Roundtree, Mark Chesser, Jacob Hardison, Jacqueline Kight and Todd Lambert.

In other cases:

* Clifford Bagley, Jr. and Jerry Lamont Flowers for escape from the Toombs County jail.

* Tiffany Latrice Ceaser for harboring Nicholas Singleton wanted in connection with the armed robbery of K.E. Butler Jewelry in Vidalia.

*Billy Russell Harvey, Jr. for forgery.

* Michael Scott, Jr. for arson.

* Brian Colby and Roderick Johnson, Jr. for burglary.

* Urbano Torres for aggravated assault.

* Eddie Roy Akines for theft by taking.

* Semeka Kent for fraud in obtaining public assistance.

* Marcos Aceves-Lopez for obstruction of an officer.

The grand jury is scheduled to reconvene July 19.
