April 19-- Montgomery County High School senior FFA member Branden Williams has been named the Central Region Proficiency Winner in the area of Diversified Crop Production Placement, and also in the area of Vegetable Crop Production Placement. This is the third year that Williams has received the award for Diversified Crop Production, and the second year for winning the Vegetable Crop Production. He was the 2008 Fiber and Oil Crop Production State Winner. Branden has served as a past Chapter Sentinel, and is currently the Chapter President. He has also competed in the EMC Electrical Wiring CDE, Tractor Operations and Maintenance CDE, Lawnmower Operations and Maintenance CDE, Agricultural Mechanics CDE, and Forestry CDE.

Image Through his accomplishments in these areas, he has recently been named as the Central Region Star in Agriculture Placement Winner. He is one of three FFA members from across the state that has been chosen as a finalist for the State Star in Ag Placement Award, which is the highest award that is given by the Georgia FFA Association. The winner will be announced at the State FFA Convention on April 22nd.  FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through Agricultural Education.

Branden is the son of Ronald and Cindy Williams of Uvalda. He is employed with Williams Farms which is owned and operated by Brett Williams, and produces Vidalia Sweet Onions, cotton, corn, and wheat.
