Kip Hart (L) accepts honor from Johnny Jones, the 2009 Lyons Citizen of the Year

March 18--  At 35, Kip Hart is the youngest person ever named the Citizen of the Year in Lyons.  The 2010 award banquet sponsored by the Lyons Merchants Association was held Thursday night.

Hart's father, Dorsey, was the town's Citizen of the Year in 2002.  Kip says "I have an ethos of service from my family and this community and I've always wanted to give something back."

In addition to being a professional photographer, Kip, who graduated from Emory University, teaches science at Toombs County High School.

"Everyday I face a classroom of young people from this community.  Seeing them looking back at me everyday, I know they are the future of our community and we're going to keep doing all we can to make sure we build a strong community for them," he says.
