Hearing Set for Clark
Tuesday, 02 February 2010

February 2--  A date has been set to hear an appeal from former Montgomery County School Superintendent Dale Clark.  She is attempting to regain her professional education certification which was revoked over two years ago by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

An administrative law hearing will be held Tuesday, February 23rd in Dublin with the state being represented by an attorney from the Georgia Department of Law.  Clark is being represented by Vidalia attorney Mackey Bryant.  The hearing is expected to last at least one day.

The Professional Standards Commission revoked the former superintendent's certification in the aftermath of allegations against her daughter.  Carrie O'Conner was a high school counselor at Montgomery County High School accused of having inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old male student.  She was subsequently found not guilty of criminal charges in the case, but has given up her own appeal to have her state certification re-instated.  State officials claim her mother failed to report the case in her capacity as school superintendent.
