Galbreath Seeks Release
Tuesday, 02 February 2010

February 2--  A former Toombs County clerk serving time for stealing from the county is seeking early release from prison.

Brenda Galbreath was a former payroll clerk in the Toombs County Commission office who was caught double-paying herself.  She later admitted the theft and was sentenced in Toombs County Superior Court to repay the county $15,300 and to serve from 700 to 730 days in jail.

She filed a motion to have her sentence reduced but her hearing last week was continued to a later date.  Galbreath is serving her time in the state probation detention center in Blakley, Georgia.
