Blue Angels Visit Vidalia
Saturday, 19 December 2009

December 21-- A couple of Blue Angel pilots from the Navy flew into Vidalia late last week to meet with the Vidalia Onion Festival Air Show committee and make sure everybody's on the same page in planning for the Blue Angel's appearance at the 2010 Vidalia Onion Festival in April.

Navy Lieutenant C.J. Simonson says the show is a great way for the Navy and Marines to meet people and to attract recruits.

"It is a huge thing for us.  The Blue Angels represent 650,000 sailors and Marines throughout the nation.  We can't pull an aircraft carrier into Vidalia and have everyone come tour an aircraft carrier.  So what we are doing is a demonstration of teamwork to show the people of the Vidalia area what precision tactics of Naval aviation can do.  It's going to be a great weekend and we're looking forward to showing people what we can do as a Naval and Marine Corps team," he said Friday morning at the Vidalia Regional Airport.

This is the fourth visit of the Blue Angels to the Vidalia Onion Festival Air Show.
