Year-End Push for Pet Adoptions
Thursday, 17 December 2009

December 17--  The Sweet Onion Animal Society (SOAPS) and the Vidalia Animal Shelter are making an end-of-year push to find holiday homes for dogs and cats.

The shelter on Airport Road is overcrowded and officials are holding a Pet Adopt-A-Thon for the second time this month Saturday from ten tll four.  SOAPS is providing a $100 voucher to pay for spaying or neutering and is paying all but $20 of the adoption fee.

As of the end of November, local folks had adopted 169 dogs and 63 cats from the Vidalia Animal Shelter.
