December 15--  Volunteers with the Sweet Onion Animal Society recently transported local homeless pups to the Atlanta Humane Society for adoption.

Both the Vidalia and Lyons animal shelters remain overcrowded as the holidays approach.  In spite of the bad weather Saturday, three dogs and two cats found homes during the holiday adopt-a-thon at the Vidalia Animal Shelter.

SOAPS is planning another this weekend and is hoping for better weather.  It only costs $20 to adopt a pet during December due to a subsidy from SOAPS plus a $100 voucher for spaying and neutering.
