Area Towns Get Infrastructure Funds

December 3--  Two area towns will be making improvements in their communities with various grants and loans.

The runway at the Reidsville airport is being extended to 5,000 feet with a state grant of $651,835 and the Federal Aviation Administration is paying for a parallel taxiway in the amount of $722,244.  Local contributions of $431,231 will complete the $1.8 million dollar project.

In Swainsboro, a $7.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will pay for new wastewater treatment facilities.
