Tuesday, 17 November 2009

November 17--  Montgomery County commissioners are calling a meeting Wednesday afternoon at five to discuss a real estate deal with Toombs County commissioners.

Montgomery Commissioners have asked their Toombs counterparts to deed them half of a 56-acre tract which the two Commissions bought jointly in 2003 as an economic development venture.

According to Toombs County manager Doug Eaves, the property has been appraised at $169,500.  He says Toombs will sell Montgomery 28-acres of the land on Highway 280 east of Ailey for $84,750 which is half of the total appraised value.

Montgomery commissioners are expected consider the offer at the called meeting Wednesday.
