Dooley to Visit Vidalia
Monday, 26 October 2009

October 26--  Former Georgia head coach and athletic director Vince Dooley is in Vidalia Tuesday for a luncheon address to the Vidalia Kiwanis Club and a book-signing at Southeastern Tech from two till four p.m.

Some of the proceeds from the STC appearance will go to the local United Way campaign.  "We're staging a silent auction there.  Barbara and I are both familiar with the great work the United Way does, so I'll look forward to being there," he said.

Coach Dooley says one of the great rewards of coaching, and particularly in high school, is the ability to have an influence on young people during their formative years.

In addition to books he has written for Georgia fans and for children, Coach Dooley will have with him his wife's book, "Put Me in Coach." He says, "I don't believe a coach can function unless he has a wife who is willing to make a sacrifice.  There's no way a coach can be successful unless he has the full support of his wife."
