Tuesday, 13 October 2009

October 13--  The city of Vidalia is planning to keep Club Spice near Vidalia High School closed until a criminal investigation regarding the club is completed.

The club's owner appealed for the return of his business license at Monday night's Vidalia city council meeting.  City manager Bill Torrance said the city believes the club staff put lewd dancing videos on the internet which showed a person with "Security" on his shirt standing by a 15-year-old female engaged in the dance.

The council also set the city property tax rate at 4.481 mils, the same rate as last year.

It also approved the closing of some downtown streets on Thursday, October 29th from four till eight p.m. to accomodate downtown trick or treaters.
