Murder Indictments in Toombs Co

September 22--  A Toombs County grand jury has indicted two people for murder.

Sean Davis of Vidalia is accused of murder in the death of a 13-month-old baby girl last April at Raymonia Apartments.  He allegedly caused fatal head injuries to the baby of his girl friend.

Derrick Clifford Varnadore of Tattnall County was indicted on eight counts including felony murder, vehicular homicide and possession and driving under the influence of methamphetamine.  He was the driver of a truck which collided with a car driven by Louise Pye last January in Santa Claus.  Pye died in the accident and Varnadore was seriously injured.

The grand jury also indicted six people for aggravated assault.  They're identified as Timothy Leggett, Camille Sharpe, Aubrey Stephens, Gregory Holmes, Culey Mincey and Ricky Ybarra.

Twenty-one people indicted in connection with drug charges are Theodore Powell, James Day, Jr., Michael Phillips, Edgardo Contreras, Jaun Morales, Amber Wilder, Joshua Wilder, Gene Brantley, Jeffery and Phillip Adams, Jonathan Bobbitt, Clarence Bostic, Brenda Ceaser, Jimmy Grainger, Michael McRae, Demery and Stevie Parker, Donald White, Reaco Gillis, Floyd Pierce and Justin Spires who is accused or marijuana possession in the Toombs County Detention Center.

Other indictments were returned against Fane Warren for robbery; Otha Forrest for burglary; Evelyn Harrel, Justin Spires and James Day, Jr. for theft; and Daniel Lynn for criminal damage to property.  He allegedly put sugar in the gas tank of a Dodge Neon owned by Billy Phillips.
