Tea Party Rally in Vidalia
Wednesday, 09 September 2009

September 9--  Tea Party patriots from all over the country are heading to Washington this weekend for a rally at the nation's Capitol Saturday.

Among those attending is a delegation from Toombs County, however, many who can't make the trip are encouraging concerned citizens to attend a local Tea Party rally Saturday.

"We're giving them the opportunity to have their voices heard by having their signs made and saying what they need to in the hope that people will take notice," says Shirley Curl of Vidalia.

The local rally will be held from noon till one Saturday in front of the Moose Lodge on Highway 280 in Vidalia.  "We will be standing on the side of the road with our signs with our opinions of the issues at hand from stimulus to healthcare," she says.

Curl says the rally is non-partisan.  "It is not a political party gathering.  It never has been with our Tea Party patriots in this area and we would not want it to develop into that.  It is for everyone," she notes.
