School Board Adopts Code of Ethics
Tuesday, 08 September 2009

September 8--  The Vidalia school board adopted a code of ethics at its September meeting Tuesday night.

School superintendent Dr. Tim Smith said the code was developed by the Georgia School Board Association in response to the loss of accreditation of the Clayton County School System last year.

The eight-point code includes a provision complying with state law regarding the employment of family members.

Curriculum Director Lucy Claroni also briefed the school board on Vidalia High School's latest Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores.  Vidalia students came in tenth out of 30 schools in the First District RESA.  Claroni says preparation needs to start in pre-kindergartern and include the effort of students, parents and teachers.
