Thursday, 20 August 2009

August 20--  Area law enforcement officers are on the lookout for an escapee from the Toombs County jail in Lyons.

ImageSheriff Junior Kight says 23-year-old Actavious Langston of Lyons climbed over an outside fence at approximately 1:30 Thursday morning.  He apparently got out of the building when a fire door was activated accidentally by a guard in the control tower.  Langston was discovered missing an hour later.

Langston was awaiting transfer to state prison after being sentenced to 26 years for armed robbery and firearms violations. He's described as a black male, five feet ten inches high and weighing 150 pounds.

If you know the whereabouts of Langston, call the Toombs County Sheriff's Office at 526-6778.
