Vets Invited to Hearing

August 20-- U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., will chair a Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee field hearing in Jesup, Ga., on Wednesday, August 26, at 2:30 p.m. to examine the services provided by community-based outpatient clinics, the role the clinics play in providing care for rural veterans, and issues related to future clinics that will be located in southeast Georgia.

Isakson, who serves on the Senate VA Committee, will hear testimony from VA leadership, including the director of the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Ga. Additional testimony will be heard from the Assistant Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Veterans Service and representatives from Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Veterans are encouraged to attend and participate in a Q&A session following the panels’ testimony.
