DOT Foods Celebrates 10 Years in Vidalia
Monday, 10 August 2009

August 10--  DOT Foods is celebrating its 10th year of doing business in Vidalia. Since acquiring the former Piggly Wiggle warehouse complex, the company has added four other locations and has grown from an $800 million to a $3 billion a year business. It has 225 employees locally.

Company president Joe Tracy was in Vidalia over the weekend for the anniversary celebration and says DOT is planning for more growth.  "We're going to continue to grow this business.  We're not used to being stagnated in terms of growth.  In the past, we've doubled every five years.  In the current economy, that's difficult to do, but we're still growing.  I don't know if we'll add more locations, but we're looking at additional product categories and services we can offer our customers and suppliers.  We still see plenty of avenues for growth," Tracy reports.
