Noise Hearing Delayed
Thursday, 02 July 2009

July 2--  A court hearing on Toombs County's new noise ordinance has been delayed.

The hearing which had been set for Thursday morning was postponed to allow more time for negotiations between the county and the owner of the Silverado Ballroom on U.S. One north of Lyons.

Toombs County manager Doug Eaves says attorneys for both sides are trying to resolve the issue without court action.

The county passed the ordinance in early June after residents near the nightclub complained of loud noise.
