Saturday Fund Raiser for Kennedy Joiner
Thursday, 11 June 2009
June 11—Kennedy Joiner, a fifth grader at Sally D. Meadows Elementary School in Vidalia, was born with bladder exstrophy, and in her ten years she has had 10 different surgeries.

ImageKennedy and her family are hoping to undergo one final surgery to solve her medical problems; however, the surgery is expensive, and she needs community support to turn her dream into a reality.

Southeastern Tech and Red Dirt World are co-hosting a Cruise-In/Car Show Saturday to help raise the estimated $50,000 needed for the operation. Kennedy's mother, Ginger, says there will be many things happening Saturday on the STC campus.

"There are activities for kids—games, rides, food, live entertainment. There will be movies in the auditorium, race cars. The Country Music Television’s “Trick My Truck” is actually sending a semi that has been tricked out to the campus. There are going to be so many things going on. They will have race cars, anyone who wants to enter, there is no registration fee. It is donations only,” she said.

You can learn more about Kennedy's condition and her campaign by visting her website www.kennedyjoiner.com.

Good luck, Kennedy!
