May 26-- Southeastern Technical College and Red Dirt World are sponsoring a Cruise In for Kennedy Joiner, a Toombs County child diagnosed with bladder extrophy.  The event will take place Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m at Southeastern Technical College.  Bring your hot rod, rat rod, antique car, muscle car, pickup truck, motorcycle or dune buggy! 

Kennedy is 10 years old and was born with bladder extrophy, a serious and painful condition that has required major surgeries and numerous procedures.  She has endured 10 surgeries in 10 years and faces another one in the summer of 2009. In 2007, Kennedy was diagnosed with chronic renal failure, basically meaning that her kidneys were shutting down.  She has hope of receiving a new bladder from new technology and medical breakthroughs.
