Crusader Coeds Earn Honors
Sunday, 24 May 2009

May 25--  Two Crusader girls are the top gradates in the Class of 2009 at Robert Toombs Christian Academy in Lyons, and it was close.  Valedictorian Ala Bishop (Left) won top honors with less than a point difference over Saluatorian Hillary Hammock.

"Actually I was really relieved.  Everyone in my class who is on the Honor's track is very, very close.  I think Hillary was something like only a hundredth of a point behind me and it was just really close," Ala says.

She's not sure, but Ala thinks one day she might be a literature teacher after she graduates from Georgia College and State University at Milledgeville.  She believes RTCA has prepared her well.  "The small atmosphere let me succeed in a way I might not have been able to do in a larger school.  You get a lot of individual attention here, the teacher's are amazing and the Christian atmosphere has let me be strong in my faith," she says.

Hillary enters the University of Georgia this Fall to major in Chemistry followed by medical school.  She echoes Ala's thoughts about RTCA and is ready to move on to the college level.  "I really am excited about being a student at UGA and the football games," she says.

RTCA's graduation is Monday night at eight o'clock at Southeastern Tech in Vidalia.
