Cash Flow Slow at Toombs Co Commission
Friday, 03 April 2009

April 3--  Toombs County commissioners held a workshop meeting and last week and heard an analysis of the county's cash flow for this fiscal year from County Manager Doug Eaves.

Last Fall the county had to borrow $750,000 to pay the bills through the end of the year.  According to Eaves, things are a bit better this year, however, he says another loan may be needed when the fourth quarter rolls around.

In the meantime, he says a temporary hiring freeze has been implemented and open positions are not being filled in an effort to save money.
