Toombs FBLA Wins Gold

March 31--  The Toombs County High School Future Business Leaders of America attended the state conference over the weekend in Atlanta.  Here's what happened filed by chapter adviser Kathy O'Neal who was also named one of the FLBA'S Adviser of the Year.

"Congratulations to Toombs County FBLA!  At the State Conference over the weekend our chapter was recognized for fulfilling the requirements to be recognized as a Gold Chapter of the Year. Brittany O’Neal earned the honor of Who’s Who in Georgia FBLA and won a place on the Georgia Chapter Parliamentary Procedure team to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California this summer.  She also received the President’s Volunteer Service Award from the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation signed by President Bush.

 

After two rounds of competition Trina Conaway won 4th place in Job Interview.  Celina Castro and Jonathan Mendes won 5th place for their performance in Global Business. 

 

Superintendent Kathy Cox was present for this conference and she congratulated Georgia FBLA for their production at the Opening Session.  In her address to the students she said she had not seen anything this glamorous outside Hollywood when she was on the Jeff Foxworthy show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader.”
