Range Fuels Update
Thursday, 12 March 2009

March 12--  After a delay of nearly 18 months, Range Fuels announces it's planning to begin construction of its Treutlen County cellulosic ethanol plant in April. Groundbreaking for the facility was held with much fanfare in the Fall of 2007.

Last November, company officials earlier told us they were holding off on construction of the multi-million dollar plant due to emerging technology at their test plant in Colorado which they plan to incorporate in the new Georgia facility.

Range Fuels plans to convert pine trees into ethanol.  Officials told the Soperton News the plant will initially use 125 tons of wood a day and ultimately process over 2,600 tons daily.
