Toombs Co Soccer Association Travels To Statesboro
Wednesday, 20 August 2014

August 20--Toombs Co Soccer Association's U10s and U12s traveled to Statesboro, to play teams from Statesboro and Hinesville for the first matches of the fall season.  The u10s struggled in each match, but got better with each match and more organized which showed the coaches the best positions for the players.  TCSA U10 United lost the first match to Hinesville 5-0 and lost the second match to Statesboro 4-0.

The u12s showed glimpses of domination early on in their first match vs. Hinesville maintaining control of the match for much of the first half until the 20 minute when Hinesville's through ball system of play caught TCSA United off guard and put one in the back of the net and also managed netting another ball with the score at half being 2-0.  The coaches made changes and tried players in different spots where and Hinesville scored four additional goals in the second half, but Hinesville could not maintain their clean sheet when Bryce Davis, TCSA midfielder swatted one past the keeper.  The final was 6-1.  In the second match of the day TCSA played the host team and once again came out and dominated the possession early and created several chances to score, but could not beat the Statesboro keeper.  Late in the first half Statesboro scored three and the score was 3-0 at the half.  TCSA made adjustments during the second half and again dominated possession, but lost shape on two occasions and the host put another two in the back of the net.

Although both teams were involved in losing efforts, the TCSA coaching staff was pleased with the players’ performance and we look forward to transitioning into league play on September 13, 2014
