Lady Indians Softball Team Finishes Summer Playing Well
Tuesday, 05 August 2014

August 5—The VHS Lady Indians Softball team has had a great summer going 39-1. The Lady Indians hope to carry over that success to the regular season that starts next Tuesday August 12th at home against Bacon Co at 6:00pm.

“ This has probably been the best summer since I have been here as far as production throughout the team. We played a lot of ballgames this summer and went 39-1. We can’t look a lot into that record because you play some teams that don’t have all of their players there. We play to win every time that we take the field. I have about thirteen girls that on any given day that I can throw into the lineup and be successful.” Coach Brad Thompson said.

“ We lost seven seniors from the team and that is why we scheduled so many games this summer. It took a couple of weeks to get used to not seeing those girls out there. It took a little while for some of the girls to step up into those shoes. There is no excuse now that we have played forty games and the young girls are experienced, we are looking forward to a great season.” Thompson said.

The Lady Indians will play a scrimmage game Thursday, August 7th at home against Screven Co at 5:30pm.
