Looking Good Grant
Saturday, 02 August 2014

August 2-- The City of Lyons together with the Lyons Main Street Board of Directors and its Design and Economic Restructuring Committees awarded and presented a Façade Grant of $362.00 to Mrs. Bernice Stokes and Mr. William Stokes of Toombs County DUI & Risk Reduction School to help with renovations on their building at 197 West Liberty Avenue in Lyons.

The renovations conducted not only enhance the overall look of the property but show pride in their business and in our community.  The City and the Main Street organization are glad that the Stokes family chooses to do business in such a visually prominent area of town and are conscientious property owners.

The current Façade Improvement Grant period is open until November 14, 2014.  Project allowances are based on 33% of the total façade renovation costs, with a maximum grant amount of $1,000.  Façade Grant monies available for this period can fund a minimum of four projects.

Commercial structures must be inside the city limits of Lyons and be located in downtown or on the major corridors into Lyons. For this grant period, all applications will be reviewed all at once and site visits will be scheduled for the committees to meet with property owners and/or tenants.

Please call Lyons Main Street at 912-526-6445 for more information or go to www.lyonsga.com for the Façade Improvement Grant Guidelines & Information brochure and application.
