Mrs. Effis Criswell, Vidalia

July 29-- Mrs. Effie Cooper Criswell, age 79, of Vidalia, died Sunday, July 27, 2014 in the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia after an extended illness. 

She was a native of Montgomery County, and lived in Vidalia most of her life.  Before retiring, she worked at TG&Y, Elmore’s, and Super 10.  She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Criswell; and parents, Bruce and Ruthie Mae Palmer Cooper.

Mrs. Criswell is survived by four children, Pat Rushton, Carol Butler and husband Kelton, Tony Criswell all of Vidalia, and Michael Criswell and Monica of Glendale, Arizona; two brothers, Harold Cooper and wife Deanna of Warner Robins, and Olin “Doc” Cooper and wife Melba of Vidalia; seven grandchildren, Kim, Stephanie, Carrie, Ashley, Matt, Ryan, and Abby; ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. 

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Raymond Burrell officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.
