July 24-- Mr. Dennis “Coon” Lynn, age 86, of Lyons, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in the Community House in Vidalia, after a brief illness.  He was born in Cobbtown and lived most of his life in Lyons.  

After working for several loggers early in his life, he started his own logging business, Lynn Timber Company, which he successfully operated for over fifty years.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons, and enjoyed fishing, cooking, dancing, traveling, and working in the yard. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred Wilkes Lynn; parents, Lloyd and Minnie Lynn; step-son, Ron Cannady; and six siblings, Charlie, Mary, Georgia, Mose, Onie Mae, and Ruthie.

Mr. Lynn is survived by his wife, Dot Lynn of Lyons; three sons, Ronnie Lynn and wife Judy of Lyons, Bobby Lynn and wife Beverly of Reidsville, and Danny Lynn of Lyons; two daughters, Dale Lynn of Lyons, and Brenda Gudzan and husband Richard of Ashland, Alabama; one step-daughter, Renee Cannady of Rincon; one step-son, Master Sergeant Craige Cannady of Warner Robins; sixteen grandchildren, Stephanie Williams and husband Trent, Brandy Taylor and husband Chad, Kendra Fitzgerald and husband Brian, Dequera Hardman and husband Derek, Ashley Hower and husband Brian, Landon Lynn, Callie Lynn, Casey Lott and husband Mark, Ethan Lynn, Evan Lynn, Israel Lynn, Christopher Lynn, Richie Gudzan and wife Mallory, Hallie Gudzan, Zack Gudzan, and Nick Gudzan; eight step-grandchildren, Jordan Alexander, Tiffany Alexander, Nicole Page, Danielle Cannady, Tyler Cannady, Harlee Cannady, Caleb Cannady, and Brant Mauras; thirteen great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, July 25th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
