Reward Tops $5,000
Tuesday, 22 July 2014

July 22--  Private donations to the Chris Wiggins reward fund have increased the amount  being offered to more than $5,000.

The total now being offered for information leading to an arrest is $5,185.00.

Wiggins was shot and killed in June when two men robbed his convenience store in Santa Claus.

The Vidalia-Area Crimestoppers initially offered $1,500 and began accepting donations from area citizens to increase the amount of the reward.

Information may be phoned in anonymously to the CrimeStoppers Hotline at 1-866-439-6313.

When a person calls the Hotline, he or she is not asked for their name but is given a reference number.  The person is instructed to call back occasionally to see if their information has led to an arrest.  If it does, the caller is instructed to go to a local bank, provide the reference number to the teller and collect the reward, no questions asked.

Donations are still being accepted and may be sent to Crimestoppers, P.O. Box 86, Vidalia, Georgia 30475.
