Allen Claims Barrow Broke Law
Wednesday, 09 July 2014

July 9--  The race for the 12th Congressional District seat between Democrat incumbent Congressman John Barrow and Republican challenger Rick Allen heated up somewhat Wednesday.

Allen issued a statement claiming that Congressman Barrow broke the law and violated House ethic's rules when the Congressman's official webpage, paid for with tax money, directed readers to Barrow's campaign webpage to sign a political petition.

Barrow's spokesman, Richard Carbo, admits it happened but says it was "an honest mistake that was immediately corrected and removed."

He claims no taxpayer dollars were used in the campaign posting and that the item was removed  after less than three hours on the page.
