The Vidalia Board of Education recognized the Vidalia High School Lady Indians Golf team for winning the 2014 GHSA Class AA Girls Golf State Championship at the board meeting Tuesday, July 8th. The State Championship is the second in a row by the Lady Indians and their third in the last four years.

“ They are student athletes who work hard in the classroom and that gives them the opportunity to compete in a sport. Coach Chad Barker does an outstanding job with the program. Anybody that has played any sport knows how difficult it is “to win a championship. So for these girls to put it the time and hard work and win back- to- back championships and three out of the last four years speaks volumes for the program that Coach Barker has established. It is exciting for us as a Board of Education to be able to recognize some of our best athletes and students.” Doug Roper of the Vidalia Board of Education said.

“ It is a great honor to get recognized when you do something special, it makes you feel good. Our board is real supportive of our program and the student athletes in our community.” Coach Chad Barker said.
