ImageJoe Strickland was serving his fifth elected term at the time of this death.

County Manager Brandon Braddy issued a statement on behalf of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners.

“Mr. Strickland was a humble servant.  Our community was so fortunate to have him serve as our Coroner.  The Commissioners will always remember Mr. Strickland for his humility and caring attitude for his community and family.  The Commissioners extends their deepest sympathies to his wife, Mrs. Sharon Strickland, and his family on his passing.

Mr. & Mrs. Strickland are highly regarded in our community as they both have served our County government.  In addition to Mr. Strickland’s service as Coroner, Mrs. Strickland serves as Chairman of the Montgomery County Board of Assessors.  While Mr. & Mrs. Strickland could have enjoyed retirement from their respective careers, they chose to serve Montgomery County together, as a team.  The County is so grateful for their service and dedication.”
