Lyons Drug Raid

June 19--  Area law enforcement officers raided two houses in Lyons and made six drug arrests.

Lyons Police Chief Wesley Walker said officers made arrests at 201 South Madison Street and at 212 South Madison Street after a six-months undercover investigation.  He said cocaine, marijuana, guns and money were confiscated.

Chief Walker believes Lyons was being used as a transfer point for drugs coming in from South Florida enroute to Atlanta.

ImageA Homestead, Florida man identified as 35-year-old Kimon Bailey is charged with possesion and sale of cocaine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

ImageThirty-three-year old Torey Washington of Lyons is charged with possesion of cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and during commission of a crime and possession of tools for commission of a crime.

ImageThirty-one-year old Darryl Allen of Lyons is facing sale of cocaine charges.

ImageA Vidalia man, 22-year-old Sabastian Summersett, is charged with possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

ImageStacy Tobler, age 22, of Vidalia is accused of possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

ImageAlso charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana is 26-year-old Martina Williams of Vidalia.

According to the Chief, the investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.

Taking part in the raid were officers from the Lyons Police Department, the Southeast Georgia Drug Task Force, the Toombs County Sheriff's Office and SWAT team members from the Georgia State Patrol.
