The Sweet Onion Classic Golf Tournament Board contributed $20,000 to the project.  Board chairman Tom Findlay says it's a natural since the Classic gave money years ago to help relocate the building which now houses the museum.  "In the past we actually gave money to the city to get this building moved out here and it's nice to see it being developed as we thought it would be," he said.

Wendy Brannen's Leadership Toombs-Montgomery Class is sponsoring the renovation.  "We have begun a retrofit for the museum.  The ceilings have been raised, the flooring has been changed, we're adding elements to make it more visually appealing when you come in, and this $20,000 is helping us do that and we're very, very thankful," Brannen told the Sweet Onion Board.

The Vidalia® Onion Museum Committee is an offshoot of the Toombs-Montgomery Ag Business Committee, which has made several large monetary contributions to the project. Wendy Brannen's Leadership Toombs-Montgomery Class is also helping raise funds and drum up community support for the renovation.  "We have begun a retrofit for the museum.  The ceilings have been raised, the flooring has been changed, we're adding elements to make it more visually appealing when you come in, and this $20,000 is helping us do that and we're very, very thankful," Brannen told the Sweet Onion Board.
