Mr. Ray Fountain, Vidalia

June 17--Mr. Ray Fountain, age 57 of Vidalia, died Monday, June 16, 2014 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia after a sudden illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Vidalia, and a self-employed carpenter most of his life.  He was Baptist by faith, and enjoyed drag racing and watching it.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Nabb Fountain; and a brother, Edmond Kramer.  

Mr. Fountain is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Laura Fountain of Vidalia; one son, Will Fountain and wife Jennifer of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Laurie Baxter and husband Michael of Vidalia; his father, Howard L. Fountain of Vidalia; two sisters, Pat McCoy of the Center Community, and Julie Fountain Screws and husband Robert of Lyons; two brothers, Roy L. Fountain, Sr. and wife Betty of Glenwood, and Roy L. Fountain, Jr. and wife Dawn of Pooler; two granddaughters, Jenna Grace and Jada Fountain of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 19th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00.
