Outstanding Student Named At STC
Tuesday, 24 February 2009

February 24--  A 2005 graduate of Toombs County High School is the student of the year at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia.

ImageKristi Brantley Denmark won the annual Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) award Tuesday.  "It means a lot.  It gives me the opportunity to represent the school and show everyone who I am and what technical education has done for me," she said.

Kristi is in STC's first class of dental hygienists which graduates next year.  "The best things about STC really are the teachers and the hands-on training you get.  The teachers really try to encourage you to do your best and to be the best.  Some students may not get that otherwise and it really helps you push yourself," Kristie observed.

GOAL Final Four (L-R) Cristal Baker of Norristown, Allison Boatright of Baxley, Winner Kristi Denmark and Keegan Spell of Vidalia. Six other students were nominated including Ann Beckum, Carla Brown, Amanda Chambers, Priscilla Edge, Monica Howard and Jermaine Jackson.
