Mr. Edward Collins, New Branch Community

June 12--Mr. Edward Collins, age 69 of the New Branch Community, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness.  He was a lifelong resident of New Branch, retired as a truck driver after forty-two years; formerly working with Piggly Wiggly and most recently with Georgia Pine Straw.  He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and loved spending time with his family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford Jack Collins and Cola Bryant Collins.

Mr. Collins is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Linda Nasworthy Collins; one daughter, Monica Davis and husband Carl; two grandsons, Justin Edge and friend Ashley Phillips and Ryan Davis and fiancé Ramie Partin all of New Branch; two great-grandsons, Chandler Edge of Swainsboro and Keegan Edge of Reidsville; one sister, Dean Flett of New Branch; one brother, Charles Collins and wife Carol of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 13th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Steven Davis and Reverend Raymond Burrell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
