June 9--Mrs. Cuba Gay James, age 94 of Lyons, died Friday, June 6, 2014.  She was born in Treutlen County to Lovett and Lottie Curl Gay. Treutlen County, and resided in Tattnall and Toombs County most of her life.  She worked at Lyons Manufacturing as a supervisor in quality control.  For the past twenty-five years, she has attended the daily luncheon meetings of the Vidalia/Toombs Senior Citizens Center.  The fellowship she enjoyed there kept her young and active.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Randall “Jack” James.

Mrs. James is survived by twin sons, Lloyd James and wife Sondra of Collins and Floyd James and wife Dolores of Reidsville; seven grandchildren, Dusty James and wife Carrie of Reidsville, Darla Nicholls and husband Al of Lake Sinclair, Delicia Kennedy and husband Mike of Claxton, Nancy Thompson and husband David of the Landings in Savannah, Richard James and wife Rhonda of Reidsville, Randy James of Pooler, and Brent James of Ellijay; twenty great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Monday, June 9th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 until just prior to the service.

Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.
