Mr. Clint Taylor, Vidalia

June 9--Mr. Clint Taylor, age 83, of Vidalia, died Saturday, June 9, 2014 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, and was a U.S. Army veteran.  He worked with Pennington Grain and Seed in Vidalia for more than thirty years, and soon after was co-founder of Toombs Wholesale Supply which was later acquired by Florida Feed and Seed.  He was a member of the Center United Methodist Church, Vidalia Masonic Lodge #330, Sinai Chapter #30, Omega Council #26, VFW Post #3563, and American Legion Post #97.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Nina Spell Taylor; and five siblings, Jack Taylor, Robert Taylor, and Bernard Taylor, Eudean Palmer, and Helen Cromer.

Mr. Taylor is survived by two children, Charles Taylor and wife Nan of North Augusta, South Carolina, and Sharon Tapley and husband Gary of Vidalia; three step-children, Robert Toole and wife Ann Michele of Vidalia, Buddy Toole and wife Brandi of Lyons, and Bobbie Morris and husband Jerry of Lyons, and their mother, Barbara Taylor of Lyons; one brother, Mell Taylor and wife Sue of Vidalia; one sister, Dot McCullough of Lyons; four grandchildren, Brad Tapley and wife Kelli of Vidalia, Sara, Cameron, and Clayton Taylor all of North Augusta; step-grandchildren, Madison and Mason Toole of Vidalia, Megan and Charlie Morris, and Dylan and Vance Toole all of Lyons; one great-grandchild, Tenley Tapley of Vidalia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, June 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral home with Reverend Ron Womack, Reverend James Scott, and Reverend Don Moye officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:00 until just prior to the service.
