Ogeechee District Scout Executive Jed Hewitt made the presentation and said, "Coach Callaway has been a strong supporter of youth throughout the years in his position as coach.  As a youth organization ourself, we are here to honor his service to youth."

Coach Callaway, 78-years-young, says although he was never a Boy Scout, his parents instilled the principles of Scouting in him at a young age.

"All of those things that represent the Scouts' Code of Honor are what you have to live everyday in order to be what you need to be.  My daddy and mother instilled that in me and that they were not going to put up with any junk.  I had to learn it early and tried to maintain that.

"I feel like that as an American you need to be a patriot first of all and you need to work hard and dream big and good things will happen."
