Bloody Sunday in Vidalia

May 19--  Three people were injured in two shootings Sunday night in Vidalia.  Both shootings happened within two hours of each other.

In the first case, a shooting in the Epstein Street area injured two young men.  Vidalia police say 21-year-old Damian Nichols and 22-year-old Preston Coleman, both of Vidalia, were shot and flown by air ambulance to Savannah.  Nichols was shot in his right leg and Coleman in his left arm.

The second shooting happened about nine p.m. Sunday at 712 Montgomery Street.  Police say witnesses heard four or five gunshots.  Twenty-year-old Drashawn Mosley of Wynn Drive in Vidalia  was in the backyard of the residence and was hit in the chest and taken to Meadows Regional Medical Center.

According to police reports, the circumstances regarding the shootings are unknown.
