Mrs. Sue Collins, Ohoopee

May 9-- Mrs. Sue Collins, age 73, of the Ohoopee Community, died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at her home after an extended illness.  She was born in the Johnson Corner Community, lived most of her life in Lyons, and in Ohoopee for the past ten years.  She was a homemaker, and a member of the Oasis Church of God in Lyons.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sadie Frost Gibbs; and a brother, Wayne Gibbs.

Mrs. Collins is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, “Blackie” Collins of Ohoopee; one daughter, Debbie Collins Edwards and husband Jeff of Gary, Texas; one son, Kenneth Collins and wife Donna of the Center Community; three sisters, Collene Jackson of Macon, George Ann Boyd and husband Renaldo of Reidsville, and Gwen Strickland and husband Harold of Vidalia; four brothers, James Gibbs and wife Bobby of Augusta, Ernest Gibbs and wife Diane of Dublin, David Gibbs and wife Judy of Lyons, and Ricky Gibbs of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Rachel, Matthew, Caleb, and Jacob; one great-granddaughter, Kooper; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 10th at 12:30 p.m. in the Oasis Church of God with Bishop Gilbert Wommack officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the Oasis Church of God, P.O. Box 1416, Lyons GA 30436.
