Owens Signs With Dalton State

VHS senior athlete Kourtney Owens signed a letter of intent for a full scholarship Tuesday to Dalton State College in Competitive Cheerleading. Owens a standout athlete at Vidalia had offers from other schools in a variety of sports but decided on Dalton State. 

“ Dalton State showed an interest in me for cheerleading which is my favorite sport and their academic program was the best fit for me.” Owens said. 

“ She has been involved in a lot of sports while in high school but I believe her heart is in cheerleading. We are very excited for her to have this opportunity and the exposure that she is going to bring to our school for being able to cheer on a full scholarship.” VHS Cheerleading Coach Ann Michele Toole stated. 

Dalton State Cheerleading Coach Robyn Pursley said, “ Kourtney is the total package, she is a great athlete and student. She came in full blast to visit us with a great personality and definitely stunned a lot of our athletic staff with her abilities. We feel really blessed to have her as part of our family at Dalton State.”
