April 30--  One of the candidates in the 12th Congressional District Republican primary race claims to have the support of most Tea Party groups in the district.

Former Capitol Hill staffer John Stone of Augusta says the endorsement by the Columbia County Tea Party gives him a "clean sweep" of the major Tea Party organizations in the district including Effingham County, Vidalia and Dublin.

Meanwhile, Augusta businessman Rick Allen is promising voters he will impose an eight-year term limit on himself, if elected.

"Give me eight years to see if I can do something meaningful about a balanced budget amendment, term limits, a fiscal policy that works, and reducing the size of the federal government.  We have got to get back to reality," Allen said on a visit to Vidalia.

Two other candidates in the Republican primary are Delvis Dutton of Glennville and Eugene Yu of Augusta.

The primary is May 20th and early voting has already begun.
