Mrs. Gladys Rowland, Vidalia

April 28-- Mrs. Gladys Phillips Rowland, age 95, of Vidalia, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 in the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia after an extended illness.  She was a native of Toombs County and lived in the Rackettown Community in Emanuel County most of her life.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Pendleton Springs Baptist Church since 1955.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rowland; parents, Carrie and Daisy Wilkes Phillips; and five siblings, Alton, Otis, Buford, Bobby, and Shellie.

Mrs. Rowland is survived three children, Lynette Joiner and husband Jimmy of  Pendleton Springs, Ed Rowland and wife Dorothy, and Dale Rowland all of Vidalia; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 30th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Revered H.G. Ridgdill and Reverend Walter Jarrell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Boiling Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.
